It has been almost a year no see you from this blog. But we;re back now!
Regarding to the huge response from you trough this NNDC UNY, we have planned to conduct the #2nd National Newbie Debating Competition for this year. We thank you all for give us a very good responses, it makes us to be more excited to conduct this event with a better quality of course.
so, we humbly ask to you to join this event again, we'll conduct this event in May 2013. Then, see you in Jogja!
and dont forget prepare your kids, or perhaps your own selves while us here prepare the besr to welcome you!

NNDC UNY has officially been closed by our beloved adviser of UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL (Student Activity Forum of Foreign Languages), Mr. Rachmat Nurcahyo. For these three days, we acknowledge that there are so many mistakes that we, the committee have done. Therefore, on the behalf of the committee, we as the tournament director and the tournament organizers do apologize for any mistake we made during the three days competition. We do appreciate for those who want to give us some advice or feedback for the committee of NNDC UNY 2012.

Not to mention, we also would like to thank to all participants, CA, DCA and adjudicators and more to the committee who have excitedly participated in this great event. Now that it is over, you can take some enough rest. We know that you all had just passed the most hectic days during the competition. Have a safe trip then. See you next year in Jogja :)

GRAND FINAL NNDC UNY 2012

In room one, teams who proceeded to the grand final were UI B and UI C.

While it contradicted with the decision-taking in room two. The adjudicators finally concluded to have a consensus to have the winner in room 2 for the semifinal round. A team from Paramadina University A and UNY A had to stop struggling to get the champion. It meant that teams who went to the grand final round is all-three-UI-teams and UNS.

Meanwhile, this can be a good stepping stone for the newbies of EDS UNY. It was their first BP tournament and it was even their first debate competition. Nonetheless we can see the hard effort coming from all EDS UNY squads in this tournament that could not be neglected merely because of their losing in the knock-out rounds. We hope EDS UNY will get another great champions in the future.

The grand final was full of yellow color for debaters from UNS didn't bring any of their "jas almamater".  With Ines (chair), Satrio, Intan, Tya, Fajri, Novel and Mia as the adjudicators, this round run under the motion This House Regrets the Decline of American Supremacy and the Advent of a Multipolar World. 

The standing position was:

OG → UI A, OO → UI B, CG → UI C, CO → UNS

The result for this grand final:

Universitas Indonesia C as the Champion

Universitas Indonesia A as the 1st Runner Up

Universitas Indonesia B as the 2nd Runner Up

Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret as the 3rd Runner Up

What a Quarterfinals!

The quarter finals has been conducted under the motion THBT Donor Countries of The World Bank Should Have a Consensus to Nominate Only Persons from Developing Nations to The Presidency. And the teams who proceed to the semifinals are:

It remains one team to proceed to the semifinal round from the host of the BP tournament, Astika and Sinta. The "admin" was even crying knowing the fact that UNY B, Arif and Nisa, and UNY C, Rofi and Sapta failed in the quarter finals. But we believe that they have given their best performances in the debate rooms. UNY B is recognized to own 10 score while UNY C to own 8 score. 

Hope all the semifinalist can give their best performances in the next round!

For these two days, our beloved A-core tried to give some peculiar and fun impromptu motions to be debated in.

The A-core actually have tried to give some crystal clear clues to help the debaters to understand the motions thus it was hoped that it could give the best debate in the rooms. However, some adjudicators still found many debaters brought the wrong ideas or even the wrong debates. No wonder, this is newbie debating competition. Nevertheless we have to admit  that all participants, even if they are still newbies, who are joining this competitions are such great participants. 

This is merely a competition where taking the best for the champions is a necessary. After having such though competitions in the preliminary rounds. These are the best sixteen team that go to the quarterfinals.
